Having been described as "an all round jazz pianist of prodigious talent", David has won several British Jazz awards, and is one of the most accomplished musicians on the Jazz scene. The band is a group of favourite musicians specially assembled for this concert. Alongside Newton on piano will be the powerful rhythm team of Steve Brown on drums and double bass player Andrew Cleyndert, both well known and popular musicians at the Arts Centre, while the front line will comprise top trumpeter and flugelhorn player Steve Waterman alongside the two distinctive saxophones of Derek Nash and Dave O’Higgins.
