Cast members from the smash hit musical MAMMA MIA! will take to the stage at the Arts Theatre on Sunday 22nd June 2008 to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support. Linzi Hateley, who currently stars as Donna in MAMMA MIA!, will be joined by Joanna Monro (Rosie), Katie Brayben (Sophie), Jodie Read (Ali), Laura Selwood (Lisa) and other members of the ABBA musical for one night only to perform an intimate collection of musical theatre songs, alongside a catalogue of popular music, accompanied by a live band and a troupe of dancers from the Susan Robinson School of Ballet. The evening will feature songs from musicals such as Wicked, Chicago, Hairspray, Footloose, Songs For A New World and of course, Mamma Mia!, as well as a mix of everything from Bond to the Beatles. The concert, which hopes to raise much needed funds for Macmillan Cancer Support, has been organised by MAMMA MIA! cast member Jodie Read. Having lost her mother to cancer in October 2007, she and her brother Jamie felt compelled to support a charity that had given so much help when they needed it most:
