Cardiff University Symphony Orchestra archiveWritten as individual works, Verdi’s Four Sacred Pieces form a satisfying and contemplative suite. The vast Te Deum is the work Verdi wished to have buried with him, so much did he like it. Tchaikovsky’s final completed Symphony is a work which draws many emotions from the listener. Tchaikovsky himself said of the piece, ‘I have put my whole soul into this work.’
