Details

Founded by Denis Coe, British Youth Opera nurtures and trains young operatic talent by offering the experience of working in a professional company and performing at major venues. A double bill of Rossini comedies, Il Signor Bruschino and La Scala di Seta (The Silken Ladder) shows the composer at his most imaginative, featuring cunning plans, farcical misunderstandings, mistaken identities and inevitable happy endings. The programme is completed by Igor Stravinsky’s The Rake’s Progress which charts the dissolute career and eventual downfall of Tom Rakewell.
