Inspired by recent visits to China and South Asia, the music of composer and director Tony Haynes combines ragas, time-cycles and inflected vocal styles from India and Bangladesh with ancient show-pieces and folk music from China with jazz improvisation, Latin and African rhythms and some surprising harmonic twists.
