Bardi Symphony Orchestra archiveThe main work in the opening concert of the Bardi’s new season is Carl Orff’s spectacular Cantata on medieval love, fortune and fate, Carmina Burana. The orchestra is joined by the Leicestershire Chorale and soloists Soprano Juliet Fraser, Baritone Jonathan Saunders and Counter Tenor Tom Williams. Music Director Claus Efland opens the concert with Tchaikovsky’s passionate ‘Romeo & Juliet’ Fantasy Overture based on the Shakespeare play about the doomed lovers.
