The BBC Concert Orchestra is one of the country s most versatile ensembles. For more than half a century it has been the house orchestra for BBC Radio 2 s Friday Night is Music Night and gives regular broadcasts on BBC Radio 3. Its work can be heard on soundtracks to many BBC TV programmes including Blue Planet, Frozen Planet and Human Planet. The Wild West. Join us in the De Montfort Hall gardens for our second outdoor classical spectacular. The BBC Concert Orchestra make their first appearance at the Hall with a selection of classic music from The Wild West, including The Big Country, The Magnificent Seven, The Last of the Mohicans, selections from Copland..and not forgetting The Lone Range's William Tell Overture. This year's fireworks finale will include the Second US Artillery of The American Civil War Society in a spectacular performance of Civil War music...bring your own earplugs!
