Songs of pain, passion and seduction from the era when Berlin was the European capital of decadence! Pierrot Lunaire is a ground-breaking masterwork of the 20th century which appeared in 1912, after Schoenberg had worked as musical director of Überbrettl – one of Berlin’s leading Kabarett houses. The second half of this thrilling programme draws on the golden era of Berlin Cabaret including classics from Schoenberg’s contemporaries such as Zemlinsky, Weill, Holländer, Eisler and Spoliansky.
