Mark Thomas - Check Up: Our NHS at 70 archiveJokes, rants, politics, play and the occasional sing song. If you don't know what he does ask your parents. In his time he has won awards, forced a politician to resign, changed laws on tax and protest, become Guinness Book of Records world record holder for number of protests in 24 hours, taken the police to court 3 times and won, walked the length of the Israeli Wall in the West Bank and generally mucked about trying to have fun and f*ck the right people off. Mark Thomas is 54, the NHS is 70, UK national average life expectancy is 84. If Mark makes it to 84 the NHS will be 100, what will they both look like? Based on a series of interviews with leading experts in and on the NHS and residencies in hospitals and surgeries and with director Nick Kent, Thomas uses his own demise to explore the state we're in. What's going wrong in our NHS, how it can go right and what the future might hold for all of us. Mark Thomas website.
