Details

The spectacular outdoor show features performers moving through the air perched on flexible, 16-foot tall poles striking more than 20 elevated bells and gongs, to perform an extraordinary, synchronised musical score. It combines elements of theatre, dance, music and circus to create an unique and dramatic event. The performance begins with a clarion call to assemble, moves through an atmosphere of quiet meditation and culminates in a crescendo of massed percussion, with the audience encouraged to participate throughout. Ringing the Changes debuted at the Melbourne International Arts Festival 2009 and is directed by Sue Broadway, designed by Michael Baxter and shaped by sonic artist Neil McLachlan
