Cirque Eloize - Excentricus archiveA leader in the world of contemporary circus, Cirque Eloize has been creating moving performances filled with magic since 1993. Based on the talents of its artists, Cirque Eloize expresses its innovative nature through theatricality and humanity, and combines circus arts with music, dance and theatre. Running time 85mins. An enthralling animal-free circus, Excentricus is a blend of entertaining circus skills, choreography, throbbing music, colourful costumes, comedy, romance and dramatic lighting. It is character-based circus with a difference - the tumbling, juggling, ladder-balancing, eight-on-a-bicycle acts interweave seamlessly while the relationship within the troupe reveal themselves: the love interest between the ladder artist and flirtatious trapeze performer and its consequences! All to the accompaniment of an exciting live band which encourages the spontaneity of the performers. This lively show is suitable for all ages. Cirque Eloize was created in 1993 by artistic director Jeannot Painchaud, after he and a group of friends from Quebec's Magdalen Islands completed training at the National Circus School of Montreal. Eloize (pronounced el-was) is a dialect world for 'flash-lightning' - symbolising the troupe's electrifying energy.
