Ida Barr is the creation of Olivier-award winner Christopher Green also known for BBC Radio 4 favourite Tina C. Ida has graced stages at the National Theatre, Tates Modern and Britain and the Barbican, as well as livening up many a variety and comedy night around the globe. She's appeared in her own series, Artificial Hip Hop, on BBC Radio 4 with special guest, the beatboxer known as Shlomo. This festive season, the Barbican has persuaded Ida Barr, former music hall singer turned RnB rap superstar, to come out of retirement and perform a brand new Christmas comedy spectacular, Ida Barr: So this is Christmas?. Audiences join Ida for carol singing, bingo for top prizes, writing the Queen's speech and necking as many glasses of warm sherry and Quality Street as possible without the aid of Gaviscon. Ida is accompanied by a young DJ who throws some fresh rhymes and urban licks into the mix. Ida Barr is the creation of UK comedian and writer Christopher Green, who has performed several times in the Pit in Office Party (bite07), Tina C (bite05) and C'est Barbican! (bite03 and bite04).
