Bourgeois & Maurice - Shedding Skin archiveCult cabaret duo Bourgeois & Maurice have racked up legions of fans around the world with their savage musical wit Bourgeois & Maurice have created a monster, and they want to introduce it to you. Taking time out from their busy schedule of gazing at their own reflections, the critically acclaimed alt-cabaret duo present their second full-length show following the sell-out success of their Soho debut Social Work in 2009. Inspired by their own experiences in the fourth dimension, Shedding Skin invites the audience deep into the folds of Bourgeois & Maurice’s peculiar world, looking at the layers of beauty and reality that lurk underneath us all. Brand new songs are accompanied by a visual feast of stunning costumes and projected films. Bourgeois & Maurice are a musical double act with style as sharp as their wit. Part-cabaret, part-theatre, part-catwalk freakshow, their songs blend unashamedly catchy pop hooks with bitingly satirical lyrics, performed on piano by the effortlessly glamorous femme fatale Maurice Maurice, with Georgeois Bourgeois on vocals. In the past year, they have enjoyed sell-out Edinburgh festival shows and performed at The Queen Elizabeth Hall, The Royal Opera House, The Royal Academy of Arts and Bistrotheque.
