Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells 'For Two'

Work:: Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells 'For Two' (S1899254565)

Two talented Australian musicians playing over twenty instruments bring to life Mike Oldfield's seminal album Tubular Bells in a unique theatrical performance. Tubular Bells is perhaps the most unlikely smash hit record ever to be released. The 1973 album shot to number one around the world, throwing its young composer into the international spotlight and kick-started Richard Branson's Virgin empire.

In 2013, forty years later, multi-instrumentalists Daniel Holdsworth and Aidan Roberts have arranged the entire score of Tubular Bells to be played by just two blokes, its subtle beauty and richly layered madness intact. This herculean feat leaves the musicians drenched in sweat and audiences on the edge of their seats, as they race from instrument to instrument. Intricately choreographed they juggle pianos, organs, guitars, mandolin, drums, glockenspiel, loop pedals, synthesizers and, of course, Tubular Bells. Tubular Bells ?For Two' burst onto the international scene following sell out seasons at the Sydney Festival, New Zealand International Arts and the Edinburgh Festival. Join us, for a memorable night as these ambitious musicians undertake the challenge of recreating the original album as faithfully as possible with just four hands and four feet.
