Details
An irreverent satirical comedy inspired by the paintings of Jack Vettriano. A girl in a red silk dress has gone missing from one of Vettriano's paintings and the art detective Vincent Constable is hired to find her. As he tries to unravel the mystery he encounters, among others, Botticelli's Venus, The Girl With The Pearl Earing, burlesque dancers ballerinas and Henry VIII (who is working as a piano player and stand up comedian in Van Gogh's Night Cafe) The play incorporates song, dance, stand up and sketches in an attempt to answer the questions that have puzzled art critics for centuries: what is the secret of Mona Lisa's simper? Just what is Rodin's sculpture thinking about? What would happen if Picasso was employed by the police to do artist's impressions?
