Meet Me in the Ruins archiveMeet Me in the Ruins is a new, diverse and dynamic piece of theatre created for Plumbline Festival - a year-long festival celebrating 100 years of Coventry's Cathedral, in association with the Belgrade Theatre. Written by five local writers; Ola Animashawun, Marcia Layne, Alan Pollock, Paven Virk and Nick Walker. Taking place on five fixed points in history, you are invited to witness five moments where people are at a crossroads in their lives. From a young man suffering survivor guilt following a tube bombing, to crucial decision making about pregnancy, a couple's conflict after immigrating, thoughts from a Polish war veteran who believes he has cheated death, and a florist who meets someone on the day her church becomes a cathedral. All set in the stunning grounds of Coventry Cathedral Ruins. This open-air performance with song is for all those who have ever felt drawn to the magical space beneath the spire: a meeting spot. Sanctuary. Lunch place. And stage.
