Details
England 2008. The height of the Afghanistan conflict with heavy losses among British soldiers. Captain Agnes Bennett is an army notification officer, informing the family back home when a soldier dies in the field. For Agnes, this difficult and thankless job is a vocational calling and one that needs to be carried out dispassionately and with military planning. It's a duty that takes an enormous emotional toll. A raw young Private, Iain Maginnis, joins Agnes as she sets out to visit the parents of one of his platoon mates, killed in an I.E.D. attack.
I.E.D. is about a woman trying to exist in a man's world, and what happens to her when she finds out she can be so easily undone. Not because she's not man enough, but because she's not woman enough. Meanwhile, Iain has to search out his own way of dealing with a secret burden of betrayal, guilt and loss.
