Double Bill: My Name Is.../This is Not London archiveA double bill of new writing, firstly that tells and reimagines the stories of refugees across the world, born of the past and of today; secondly that questions the concept of social security and what it means to be a welfare state in 2017. My Name Is... - A government official working in an anti-terrorist cell becomes tense at the news of atrocities in Paris where his only daughter currently works. As he gets restless he finds he has a new unknown guest who has been living in his house for the past week... This is not London... - A short comedy exploring what happens when currency stops existing, and whether it really is possible for two cynical thieves to come round to a different way of thinking. Two thieves consider that it might be time to leave Birmingham when they find themselves being chased by a particularly aggressive mob. Things seem to have just about worked out for them when they manage to steal a car and set the sat nav to London - a city where a bright future and plenty of wallets await. But something happens somewhere along the way and after four hours of aimless driving, they find themselves in a city that doesn't feel right. Waiters let them eat for free. People don't seem to understand what money is. And petty crime seems alarmingly easy...
