Looking for Buddy archiveLooking for Buddy is a musical with an original jazz score, a dark and mysterious atmosphere and a Geordie Phillip Marlowe, which takes a wry, witty and surreal look at the new Tyneside. Meet Phil, an underemployed architect; Ella, a beautiful blonde who isn't really blonde and Fat Jack who isn't really fat. All are hunted by the music of Buddy Bolden, a legendary New Orleans trumpet player who never recorded and nobody really knows what he sounded like. Then Zelda arrives from another galaxy (or perhaps London), carrying the solution to the area's problems: a regeneration scheme for North Tyneside! She's delivering the Holy Grail, and knows it. And that is when the story really starts... Suitable for ages 15 and over. There may be smoking on stage during this production.
