Wings of Desire archiveBased on the 1987 classic Wings of Desire follows the story of an angel who falls in love with a trapeze artist and yearns to experience the sensations of everyday human existence. Seeing the world through his eyes, even the most mundane of activities such as eating, touching and smelling take on a magical quality making us take a fresh look at how we view our daily lives. Adapted and directed by Alan Lyddiard, Wings of Desire is a stunning visual poem set in Newcastle. The production uses film-footage shot on Tyneside and features a cast of fifty people.
