Details
Victorian London. A city racked by crime. The newspapers warn of international terror cells. An elaborate underworld of drugs and violence alarms respectable citizens. In Baker Street, Sherlock Holmes spends his days bored and frustrated. The famous violin lies untouched amid the memorabilia of an illustrious career. But when a young woman arrives on his doorstep, all this is about to change. Alice Irving is in fear of her life. She cannot approach the police, she tells Holmes, claiming she is being pursued by a supernatural enemy. He is her only chance. Holmes senses that at last this is a mystery worthy of further attention and so begins a tale of intrigue and deception, which will end with a terrifying final scene on the stage of the Athenaeum Theatre in The Strand.
