An extremely funny, dark comedy with surrealistic humour and grotesque situations that reveal the characters' distorted beliefs: perfect logic is energetically applied to illogical ends, in this parable of modern history. Arthur lives with his Bohemian family in appalling disorder in a world of chaos "where nothing is possible any more because everything is possible." His mother sleeps with a vulgar hoodlum; his father looks the other way, meanwhile writing avant-garde plays; and his grandmother plays cards incessantly. Arthur creates an elaborate coup d'tat, involving a traditional wedding with his cousin Ala, and an attempt to establish order at the point of a gun. How will his family react when placed in the tight norms of socially accepted tradition? What happens when a passionate tango, with its graceful movements, is stripped of its sensuality? A play with a chilling denouement.
