The Early Earth Operas are the latest flowering of our pioneering educational work with children. These three short pieces have been commissioned by eNO Baylis and inspired by children's responses to stories from the Book of Genesis. Firestone explores the science of creation and is set in a world of insects and planets; Dogfight transfers the Cain and Abel story to a pack of wild dogs; and Animallarky presents the Flood myth without any human or divine involvement. Stunning animated projections, based on original children's paintings, are used to narrate key moments in the story and provided imaginative scenery to this exciting premiere. ENO Baylis is grateful to Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein for supporting the commissioning and development of Firestone and Dogfight.
