The Bridge is a place between here and there.... Colin is in crisis. Staring at his own reflection on the commute between the sea and the city the boundaries of his life begin to blur. They will meet In the middle, where he will find the beginning or an end to it all. Drawing on snippets of overheard conversation, Phil Gunderson eavesdrops on the lives of strangers on a train. Through imaginative use of projections and poetry he makes the ordinary seem extraordinary as he draws us into the carriage with his sharply drawn observations. The play delves into the misery of the daily grind to work. Soon Colin's life begins to unravel against the unspoken tension of the journey as the bridge draws him inexorably closer to its secret.
