Details
In a run down schoolroom a group of foul-mouthed high school students conduct their own lessons as they await teachers who never arrive. Their parents, social workers and society in general have abandoned them.
Class Enemy is based on Nigel Williams's play set in South London in 1978 but Haris Paskvic transports us to Sarajevo in 2007, a post war city where social disorder and teenage violence are rife. We witness seven teenagers' dramatic and poignant life stories which paint a bleak picture of family life, local politics and terror. They are underprivileged but they are gifted and eager to be recognised, acknowledged, confronted and taught about life. In the isolated classroom chairs fly, emotions run high and violence erupts as the pupils burst with adolescent energy, humour and vulnerability. Performed in Bosnian with English supertitles. Please note the performance contains strong language. Run time 1 hour 45 mins
