A double bill of two contrasting plays exploring outsiders and the guilt that keeps them there. (Hamlet) As Max tries to learn the part of Hamlet, he is reminded of events in his own life and of a rather sinister and guilty secret. (The Fall) Adapted from a novel by Camus s, The Fall is set in an Amsterdam bar in the 1950 s, where we meet Devil s advocate Clamence and an enigmatic cabaret singer, whose songs (Brel, Weill etc.) illuminate the story of Clamence s fall from grace.
