The Corona-tion of Celia explores themes of love and isolation and how we cope with the uncertainty they create. Jim and Celia have a brief encounter at a dance club but the imposition of a national lockdown delays their next meeting. Unable to reach Celia, Jim's internal world is thrown into turmoil as his hopes, dreams and emotions are left in limbo. The play takes place at moment in time, which is extended unnaturally due to lockdown. The physical performance creates a troubled emotional world in which fantasy and reality clash and embrace, as Jim explores an imagined relationship with a woman who is seemingly oblivious to his existence.
