Life for Francine in Paris 1900 is full. One lover tries vainly to evade her husband, only to find himself given away by the new technology of the day, pursued by a short-sighted gun-wielding neighbour and ultimately caught, minus his clothes, in flagrente. Meanwhile her second lover, a confident politician in public, but a man reduced to helpless gibbering in the presence of the woman he loves, plies her with an assortment of vegetables..
