Joe O'Connor (melodeon), Matthew Jones (guitar), Kevin Lees (fiddle) and David Jones (fiddle) met when they were all members of Folkestra, a 17-piece band run by Kathryn Tickell at the Sage Gateshead. After putting together a set of tunes to record on a Folkestra CD, they realised that they loved playing together and decided to enter the 2007 BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award and they won. In July 2007 they issued their first album Last Orders on the Fellside label FECD207.
