For the last seven years Gustavo Marques has been at the forefront of the Brazilian music scene here in the UK. The exceptional debut album 'Jazz Popular Brasileira' on Candid Records features his Brazilian Quintet alongside some of this country's most outstanding up and coming musicians. Gustavo Marques Quintet brings a mixture of bossa nova, Samba, baiao, and afoxe: a fusion of Afro-Brazilian rhythms and 70's funk from their native Brazil.
