The Bookie archiveIt's a Saturday night in a Scottish sea-side town. Life's an endless one horse race for local betting shop bookie Stevie McGee. His love life's limp, his car's clapped out and his patter's pretty poor. He doesn't know it but all that's about to miraculously change - what are the odds? Leo Queen's back in town and he's building a brand spanking new casino. Never look a gift horse in the mouth. Quarry's in for the time of its life and the winner takes it all. Cumbernauld Theatre Company present a new Scottish musical by acclaimed writer Douglas Maxwell with music by Aly McRae. The kilts are on, the chips are down and all you need is luck in this musical tale of love and money, guilt and gambling, tears, tantrums and triumphs. When the going gets tough, the tough get drunk. The recommended age for this performance is 15+
