Lambert's Rio Grande and Walton's Facade archiveLambert and Walton were the hottest composers in England during the 1920s - both part of the dazzling circle that clustered around the aristocratic Edith Sitwell and her brothers. Walton took the world by storm at the age of 21with his daring Facade, a musical backdrop for Edith to declaim her wild poems against. Lambert scored an even greater success with Rio Grande, which sets a poem by Edith's brother Sacheverell. These were vital and exciting times...come and hear the music that exploded out of them! To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the death of Constant Lambert (the English Diaphilev)
