The York community choir Prima Vocal Ensemble first took part in this glorious song cycle, 'The Drop that Contained the Sea', at its world premiere at Carnegie Hall in 2014. Now they proudly welcome it to their home city for its first performance outside America. On Saturday 16 July at York Barbican the double Grammy Award-winning composer Christopher Tin will conduct the 200-strong combined choirs of Prima Vocal Ensemble and the Angel City Chorale of Los Angeles in a performance of his thrilling and exuberant choral work which celebrates the beauty and power of water in all its many forms.
