Details
Set in a public school during the Second World War. Raleigh and Groves, two prefects, are in their final year. They know that when they leave they will be called up to join the forces and that they could die before they have even had a chance to live. At the same time, they are having to come to terms with their awakening sexuality. Still schoolboys, but in many ways already grown men, they face a turmoil of conflicting emotions. In an age that was far more innocent than the present day,
Playing Fields is a moving drama which examines the growing awareness of feeling only half understood in a world where they face a future which may lead to possible oblivion they realize that if they are going to experience life at all, they will have to seize the moment and experience it here and now.
