Stovepipe archiveStovepipe is a striking dramatisation of former journalist Adam Brace's tour of Amman. Honest, stark and immediately arresting, it delivers a vision of a post-war Middle East. The Security Zone of Project Rebuild Iraq, 2009. As a keynote speech is delivered at the sixth annual Rebuild Iraq Conference in Jordan's buzzing capital Amman, there is a security breech and armed mercenaries lock down the site. /Alan has just been serving with the Parachute Regiment in Iraq; on his last rotation he watched his friend Grif burn alive in his armoured vehicle. And now Eddy, his fellow service man and best friend, has gone AWOL in Jordan. Alan breaks protocol and embarks upon a hunt across the post-war Middle East to find him. Alone among people he can't trust, Alan collates a patchwork of sightings of Eddy, Mercenaries, entrepreneurs, prostitutes, translators - this is the real post war Iraq. In this black market world, can Alan save his friend? Suitable for 14+ years Stovepipe is an indoor promenade performance. Patrons are advised to wear comfortable shoes and to dress warmly. Running time 90mins with no interval.
