Details
Performed at the Lyceum Theatre in 1812, this melodrama with music tells of the feud between the fighting publicans of Highgate and the tunnel diggers of Archway and the forbidden love of a landlord's daughter for a tunnelier. We revive the traditions of our splendid Victorian auditorium in this fantasmagorical extravaganza of mirth and merriment incorporating an evening of 1900 music hall commemorating the rebuilding of Archway Bridge. The melodrama is interspersed with a variety of acts form comedians, singers, magicians and ventriloquists, under the supervision of Master of Ceremonies John Plews.
