An adaptation of V Erofeev's short story. A vile Russian comedy of domestic sex and violence. The civil has committed an error of judgement at his place of work. As punishment, he must take an idiot into his home. Hoping for a holy fool, he is delighted to discover Vova, who appears at first a delightful, wise, witty companion. Soon, however, Vova's emerging visceral power has a peculiar and devastating effect upon the household. Sexual frenzy and disorientation is explored within the most bizarre and insane love triangle imaginable. The Gate is transformed into a claustrophobic living room where a battle for control takes place...
