Nel archiveNel is a foley artist. Don't know what that is? That's ok, not many people do. Nel spends her time bringing life to people's films. In her world a tyre screech is a hot water-bottle, an epic fight scene is composed of frozen cabbages and snapping rhubarb. But her real world isn't turning out so well. Her cat has died and she's accidentally poisoned her fish. She is in need of a friend. But she is afraid. In a world of continuous self comparison she feels inadequate. In this story of identity, friendship and film clubs, join Nel as she finds a new, unexpected connection with the world of film and sound. Watch as the wires begin to cross and her work starts to seep into her reality.?Combining folk-tale, on-stage foley artistry, and physical theatre, Scratchworks latest production explore how we are able to mould other people's perception of ourselves through technology, giving a new edge to the classic tale of ?finding yourself' in the digital age.
