TUE 22nd MAY - SUN 27th MAY 2012:CP THEATRE NEW WRITING PROGRAMME - An evening of short plays which focus on the spooky, the ghostly and the supernaturally strange. Two of the plays also happen to feature same sex couples, a theme repeated in the following week's production of "Salome". The Earlsfield Ghost, a true story told by David Clifton - Suicide Suite, by Jim Holt - When All is Said and Done, by Michael Sands - The Eye, by Cynthia Dickens. TUE 29th MAY - SUN 3rd JUNE 2012: "SALOME" by Oscar Wilde - This new production of the Wilde classic features the thoroughly ghoulish trading of the freshly severed head of John the Baptist for the biblical equivalent of a lap dance. But more than this, the play's analysis of Salome, with its mix of transgressive relationships and unrequited desire, is also an allegory of Wilde's own sexuality.
