MacGregor is one of the world's most wide ranging and influential musicmakers. As a concert pianist she has worked with such eminent figures as Pierre Boulez, Sir Simon Rattle and Sir Colin Davis, and has premiered landmark works from Django Bates to John Adams. A restless innovator, she has continued to break down musical barriers throughout her career, including cross-genre collaborations with Brian Eno, Nitin Sawhney and, at this year's London Jazz Festival, virtuoso oud player Dhafer Youssef. This concert will be a musical sketch of Joanna MacGregor's life. Join her musical journey spanning across time and continents; from Bach Preludes and Gospel songs that she played as a child through to her first love, Thelonius Monk, and her first 'difficult' composer, Charles Ives. Experience the unique sounds collected from her travels across the Deep South and Latin America.
