The Life and Death of Almost Everybody

USER (19Jul05): “THE LIFE AND DEATH OF ALMOST EVERYBODY” Take an empty stage, add one man with magic powers, and suddenly – there’s life, movement and colour! And the scene is set for “The Life and Death of Almost Everybody”, an amusing allegorical play by David Campton. This is the Wick Theatre Company Youth Group’s exciting choice to follow last year’s successful debut with “The Exam”. The Sweeper, a charismatic character with a vivid imagination, is tempted to perform some magical experiments in order to create life. After summoning up a rabbit, he produces a Young Man and a Young Woman. All kinds of other characters appear, and then the situation starts getting out of hand. As more and more creations are demanded of the Sweeper’s imagination, a dominant lady known as Aunt Harriet pops up – and he hadn’t even thought of her! Aunt Harriet soon takes over and the Sweeper begins to panic. Can he banish this unmanageable crowd back to the shadows before the Stage Manager arrives? This amazing epic is directed by Mark Best, and a large cast includes Tom Harris as The Sweeper, with Paul James and Sara Hadfield as the Young Man and Young Woman. Kira Branlund plays Aunt Harriet.
