Details
A striking, vibrating, digital solo sign-mime performance by Deaf dance artist, Chisato Minamimura, exploring for the first time in public the powerful perspectives of deaf hibakusha - the survivors and, using filmed and found footage of their experiences of the dropping of the atom bombs in Japan in 1945, their stories thereafter. Chisato's performance blends striking animation projected onto Holo-Gauze and set to a haunting sound composition that you feel through body-worn Woojer straps. This immersive performance is like no other, sharing untold stories of discrimination, disenfranchisement and survival, still powerfully relevant for all our lives.
