The Moon is full. So full it eclipses the Sun. A timely moment for the premiere of a new play inspired by the old English names for the Full Moons. Something Underground Theatre Co, and Kate Darach premiere thirteen tales based on the old names for the full moons. As well as having performed with several companies (Feral Theatre, CityLit Rep, Tokyo International Players) and with Something Underground before, playing a midwife, in "The Last Lunch" (Best New Play 2012, Brighton Fringe) Kate Darach is now in real life, ironically, a trainee midwife, as well as a mother, actor, writer and once upon a time, a new immigrant to the UK. In this brand new writing she draws together all the threads of her experiences, to muse on the particular and universal aspects of womanhood. Each chapter is a different character whose story interweaves with the others. From 16th Century Yorkshire to the affluent 'burbs of Johannesburg, from a middle-aged femme fatale in Hunter's Moon to a teenage porn star in Milk Moon, these are dark, witty, disturbing and thought-provoking statements of what it is to be a woman, across time and place.
