This is the story of a group of Nigerian women who refused to be abused. Their story of exclusion and fear. Their story of wanting a baby. A theatrical event based on true accounts. Female Genital Mutilation has affected 135 million girls and women worldwide. It is an operation that is performed for a variety of reasons that crosses cultures and religions. The procedure varies - but it inevitably takes place without proper medical intervention and without the consent of many of the young girls that it is forced upon. Female Genital Mutilation has been practiced for centuries. It is ingrained within hundreds of cultures. It is seen as a ritual, a rite of passage. Viewed through the eyes of Western ideology however, it is an abuse. Now with education women at risk are beginning to see it this way too. But, their refusal brings it's own terror - they face humiliation, loneliness and violence.
