Siobhan has an idea. An idea for a play. A single, solitary, invisible idea that only exists inside her head. When struggling artists Siobhan and her friend Conner decide to write, direct and star in their own original production, they have high expectations of being discovered, of finally being taken seriously as artists. That is, until a newspaper theatre critic writes a particularly savage review leaving them frustrated, angry, deeply humiliated and perhaps worst of all, without any means by which to dispute publicly the expert opinion of their artistic merit. That's when Siobhan has her second idea. A single, solitary, invisible idea... except this one has teeth...
Death of a Critic is a black comedy about artists, their egos and the lengths they'll go to, to preserve them. Written, directed and performed by some of the top stand-up comedians on the Scottish circuit today, this is a twisted comedy for anyone who has ever taken criticism badly.
