Details
A kaleidoscopic evening's tour of a grotty, depressed road under the guidance of a rum-soaked narrator. Sharp, funny, sad, angry, bawdy and frequently obscene it depicts lives full of regrets for the past and dreams of the future. Revived twice within a year when if first appeared at the Royal Court, it went on to win numerous awards and has been called the most significant and original play of the 1980s. Regarded as a seminal portrait of Thatcher's 'other Britain' the play is a raw and grim account of unemployment seen through the eyes of its wideboy narrator Scullery and the inhabitants of a depressed Lancashire street. This show contains strong language and is not suitable for children.
