Notre Dame de Paris archiveBased on the Victor Hugo classic novel in which a hunchback who dwells in the bell tower of Notre Dame Catherdral in Paris falls in love with the beautiful Esmerelda. Notre Dame de Paris, first opened in Paris in September 1998 to rave reviews and a massive public response, selling over 600,000 tickets in six months, and a subsequent four-month tour of Canada sold out more than 300,000 tickets. The musical has also played a sell-out tour of France, Belgium and Switzerland, with ticket sales exceeding one million. The original French production in London will be performed with English surtitles and a live orchestra.
