Details
Outside, a new regime is taking over, crowds cheer on the gangs as they terrorise the vulnerable and the 'different' ones. The local shops are set on fire, and the mood grows darker. Inside, Carla waits for Helver to come home. She tries to preserve her domestic ritual of making soup and laying the table, until suddenly there is a knock at the door... The story is a universal one - it could easily take place these days - or in a hundred years. (Andrei Koulev, Director of the Bulgarian National Theatre production of Helver's Night).
