Formed in 1998 Walker Dance is at the forefront of the British contemporary dance scene, showing work both in the UK and internationally. 5 2 10 takes you on a journey through the human emotions with fervent, powerful live music, and dance of heart-stopping athleticism and beauty. 5 2 10 is inspired by the colours and emotions of the body’s seven chakras, the energy centres along the spine in yogic tradition. It unfolds in seven distinct yet connected parts, 5 unpredictable duets and 2 emotional and urgent solos. Each dance has its own unique soundworld, created by 10 instruments including saxophones, bassoon, marimba and congas. Fin Walker has carved out a reputation as one of the finest contemporary dance choreographers of her generation and began working with composer Ben Park in 1993. They have created many works for Walker Dance Park Music as well as recent commissions for Rambert Dance Company, Ricochet Dance Productions, Phoenix Dance Theatre and Candoco.
