Details
Three contrasting one act operas to illustrate the specific delights of opera in a small space. Previous successes since 2004 include A Man of Feeling, Love’s Luggage Lost, Riders to the Sea, The Bear, The Barber of Seville, Così fan tutte, Don Giovanni, Dido and Aeneas, Cox and Box, La bohème, The Wandering Scholar and La Cenerentola. On this occasion Stuart Barker has chosen 20th century works including The Waiter's Revenge by Stephen Oliver which takes place in the bar downstairs with six characters, two tuning forks, and real food from The Rosemary Branch kitchen. The defeat of Death in Gustav Holst's Savitri, and a murder story running backwards, Hin Und Zurück by Paul Hindemith complete this intriguing programme.
